Instruction: Based on your own understanding, kindly define the following
terminologies:

A.WHAT IS A DATABASE?
    - A database is a structured information collection that is often stored electronically in a computer         system. Typically, a database management system is in charge of managing a database (DBMS). A         database system, frequently abbreviated to just database, is the collective term for the data, the             DBMS, and the applications that are connected to it.


B.WHAT TYPE OF SOFTWARE IS MICROSOFT OFFICE EXCEL?
    - Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet program that  displays tables of values organized in rows and              columns that may be mathematically modified using both simple and advanced arithmetic                      operations and functions. The application is compatible with several operating systems, including          Windows, macOS, mobile devices, and tablets.


C.WHAT TYPE OF SOFTWARE IS MICROSOFT OFFICE ACCESS?
    - Microsoft Access is a database management system produced by Microsoft and is part of         the Microsoft 365 office suite. Microsoft Access combines Microsoft's relational Jet                  Database Engine with software development tools and a graphic user interface (GUI).


D.THINK OF ATLEAST TWO DIFFERENCES BETWEEN ACCESS AND
EXCEL.
    - Access is more effective at managing data because it makes it easier to keep it structured,                      searchable, and accessible to several users at once.
    - On general, Excel is superior for data analysis since it can handle complex calculations, investigate        potential outcomes, and create excellent charts.

B. EXPLORE & EXPLAIN
Answer the following questions:
1. What is Information management?
    - Information management is the process of gathering, organizing, and storing data in a way that              makes it easy to access and use. To aid decision-making and support the effective operation of an          organization, it seeks to guarantee that the appropriate information is made available to the                      appropriate individuals at the appropriate time.

2. What is a database?
    - A database is a structured information collection that is often stored electronically in a computer          system. Typically, a database management system is in charge of managing a database (DBMS). A          database system, frequently abbreviated to just database, is the collective term for the data, the                DBMS, and the applications that are connected to it.

3. What is database management system?
    - Data is stored, retrieved, and analyzed using software system called database management systems     (DBMS). Users can create, read, update, and remove data in databases using a DBMS, which acts as     an interface between them and the databases. Data can be changed or extracted by users and other        programs thanks to DBMS, which manage the data, the database engine, and the database structure.       Data security, data integrity, concurrency, and standard data management practices are all aided by        this. By using the normalization database schema design technique, which divides a large table into        smaller tables when any of its attributes have redundant values, DBMS optimizes the organization of     data. DBMS provide a number of advantages over conventional file systems, such as flexibility and a     more intricate backup system.

4. What are the difference between RDBMS and NON-RDBMS?
    - A relational database is structured, which means the data is arranged in tables. These tables                 frequently contain data that is related to or dependent upon other data. Since a non-relational                 database is document-oriented, all data is kept in what resembles a laundry list of categories.

5. What is object-oriented database?
    - An object-oriented database is a collection of object-oriented programming and relational database.
